More about the release

Spanish-born, Paris-based illustrator, designer, and visual artist, Helena Pallarés specializes in crafting bold and conceptual illustrations for news publications, murals, textiles, and brands.

Her illustrations have been featured in distinguished publications such as The Washington Post, Glamour, Libération, El Malpensante, Atlas Obscura, Madame Figaro, Kiplinger, and InPact Magazine. Additionally, her work has found a place in prestigious private publications associated with American universities like Harvard, Brown, Smith, Boston College, Amherst and Berklee College of Music.

Pallarés's artistic identity is marked by a unique fusion of color, geometry, shapes, and strategic use of negative space in her compositions. Her conceptual and intellectually resonant pieces effectively communicate intricate themes. Drawing inspiration from 1960s illustration movements, jazz album covers, cubism, and dadaism, she brings a rich and diverse array of influences into her creative process.

Her bold, conceptual, and colorful creations also showcase a unique collage technique. Through her personal collage method, Pallarés combines paper and drawing, defining her signature style evident in her minimalist and vibrant portraits. Her meticulous, harmonious, and spontaneous creative process involves delicate handling of fragile pieces, intricately assembling them like a paper tangram.

Graduated in Graphic Design, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and her work has been exhibited in London, Paris, Istanbul, Évora, Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao.
